Martina Zanin | Every Caress, A Blow | Fondazione Pastificio Cerere

Fondazione Pastificio Cerere presents Every Caress, A Blow, a solo exhibition by Martina Zanin, one of the most compelling voices of her generation.

Zanin’s practice unfolds at the intersection of sculpture, textile, and bodily gesture. Her works — often made from organic, fragile, or unexpected materials — explore the threshold between tenderness and violence, care and harm, the intimate and the confrontational. The title itself holds this tension: a caress that becomes a blow, a gesture of closeness that carries within it the potential for hurt.

For this exhibition at Pastificio Cerere — the historic pasta factory in the San Lorenzo district that has been a vital hub for Italian contemporary art since the 1980s — Zanin has created works that respond to the industrial memory and communal spirit of the space. The relationship between labour, the body, and material transformation runs as a quiet current through the show.

Fondazione Pastificio Cerere is known for its commitment to supporting early-career artists through residencies and exhibitions that foster genuine dialogue between practice and place.
