Visiting Tips
- Most galleries are closed on Sundays and Mondays. Tuesday through Saturday are the best days to visit.
- Exhibition openings (vernissage) typically happen on Tuesday or Thursday evenings and are free and open to all.
- Museums require tickets, but most foundations and all commercial galleries offer free admission.
- The first Sunday of each month, most state museums in Rome are free.
- Many galleries close in August. The art season runs from September through July.
