Giuseppe Ducrot | Monumental Statuary | Lorcan O’Neill
18 December 2025 – 4 April 2026
Lorcan O’Neill presents Monumental Statuary, a solo exhibition by Giuseppe Ducrot.
Giuseppe Ducrot works with sculpture and installation, engaging with the weight of cultural and material history. Monumental Statuary takes as its starting point the complex relationship between form, monument, and collective memory — questioning how we construct and inhabit the figures we erect as symbols of permanence.
Ducrot’s practice has long been concerned with the tension between the grandiose and the precarious, the official and the unofficial. His sculptures, which often draw on classical vocabulary while subverting its authority, invite visitors to reconsider what it means to monumentalise: who gets to be remembered, in what form, and for how long.
The exhibition at Lorcan O’Neill — one of Rome’s most respected contemporary art galleries — provides an ideal context for this work, allowing Ducrot’s sculptures to enter into dialogue with the city’s own layered relationship to monuments and ruins.
