Isabella Ducrot | Profusione – Book Launch | T293
20 February 2026
T293 presents the launch of Profusione, the catalogue conceived for Isabella Ducrot‘s 2024 exhibition at Le Consortium, Dijon, published by Les Presses du Réel (2025).
Isabella Ducrot is one of the most distinctive and quietly radical artists working in Rome today. Born in Naples in 1931 and based in Rome, Ducrot developed her artistic practice late — and all the more rigorously for it — working across works on paper, fabric assemblages, and collages that engage with materiality, memory, and duration. Her work brings together the textile traditions of the East, where she lived for many years, and a sensibility shaped by decades of close looking and patient making.
Profusione gathers seventy artworks produced between 2016 and 2024, with contributions from multiple writers examining Ducrot’s engagement with intimacy, softness, and transformation. For the launch event at T293, six new works from her Tendernesses series are displayed — figures that cling to one another even as their forms loosen, blur, and merge into a soft choreography of presences where closeness never implies possession.
T293 has represented Isabella Ducrot since 2021, placing her work in an international dialogue that her singular practice fully merits.
