Daniel B. Dias | A Borrowed Window | Dorothy Circus Gallery
16 March – 18 April 2026
Dorothy Circus Gallery presents A Borrowed Window, the first solo exhibition in Rome by Daniel B. Dias (São Paulo, 1987), a self-taught painter who has developed an internationally recognised practice.
Born and raised in Brazil, Daniel B. Dias now works internationally, bringing to his canvases a sensibility formed at the intersection of South American expressionism, European figurative painting, and the visual codes of popular culture. A Borrowed Window — his first collaboration with Dorothy Circus Gallery — marks a significant moment in his career, offering a window into a vision both intimate and expansive.
The paintings in the exhibition explore light, transparency, and the act of looking through: the window as a threshold between interior and exterior, between the visible and what lies beyond. Dias’s surfaces are luminous and layered, built up through processes of addition and erasure that leave visible traces of their own making.
Dorothy Circus Gallery has established itself as a leader in contemporary figurative and post-street art across its Rome and London spaces, championing artists who work with skill, imagination, and narrative depth.
