Antonio Scordia | Un omaggio | Galleria Mucciaccia

7 February – 9 March 2026

Galleria Mucciaccia presents Antonio Scordia. Un omaggio, an exhibition curated by Giovanna Caterina De Feo dedicated to the work of Antonio Scordia (1918–1988), a central and underrecognised figure of Italian painting in the second half of the twentieth century.

Twenty-one works spread across two floors trace the artistic trajectory of Scordia, whose career moved between expressive figuration and abstract lyric painting. A pupil of Felice Carena and close to the Roman school, Scordia developed a personal idiom that drew on the chromatic richness of the Mediterranean while engaging with the great transformations of European painting in the postwar period.

Un omaggio — A Tribute — is an act of critical recovery, presenting to new audiences an artist whose contributions to Italian painting remain insufficiently recognised. A concurrent exhibition at Casino dei Principi – Musei di Villa Torlonia, also curated by De Feo, further extends this reassessment.

Galleria Mucciaccia is a leading Rome gallery dedicated to modern and contemporary Italian and international art, with locations at Via Laurina 31.
