Jonathas de Andrade | Sorelle senza nome | MACRO

11 December 2025 – 6 April 2026

MACRO – Museo di Arte Contemporanea di Roma presents Sorelle senza nome by Brazilian artist Jonathas de Andrade, curated by Cristiana Perrella.

De Andrade is known for his deeply researched works that explore the intersections of politics, anthropology, and popular culture, often drawing on archival materials, collective memory, and the complex legacies of colonialism in Latin America. His practice moves fluidly between film, photography, installation, and performance.

In Sorelle senza nome — Sisters Without Names — the artist develops a new body of work that reflects on the invisible ties of kinship, solidarity, and anonymous belonging that traverse social bodies and resist official histories. The title evokes figures who have been erased or overlooked: women, communities, and modes of being together that leave no official trace.

The exhibition is part of MACRO’s major season UNAROMA, a project conceived by director Luca Lo Pinto and Cristiana Perrella as an immersive portrait of the city and its cultural communities.
